Knott’s Berry Farm: Camp Spooky

This past weekend we had the opportunity to attend a media event at Knott’s Berry Farm’s Camp Spooky. This was our first time to Camp Spooky so we were all very excited! The kids were able to dress up in their Halloween costumes and we toured through Camp Spooky with a few other families before the park opened to the public.

First we had breakfast at the Grizzly Creek Lodge, then we decorated cookies. They had large sugar cookies covered in black icing with a pointed witch hat cone, also covered in black icing, to look like witch hats. So fun! Next we found the Peanuts characters and my daughter took a picture with them, the boys were a little bit shy. This was followed by the Charlie Brown Spooktacular , which is an interactive show with all of the character. The kids (and adults) can go on stage and learn how to do the monster mash.

After the show we grabbed our trick or treat bags and started walking through the park looking for our 5 treat stations. We went through the Monster Factory, which is a hall of mirrors where you try to find 4 monsters. We almost didn’t find them all, one was hiding at the end. Then we went through the Creepy Crawly Critter Cave, not my favorite. There were all sorts of slimy and slithery little critters for the kids to look at.

We ended our day with a few more rides in Camp Spooky, the kids liked Woodstock’s Airmail the best. Unfortunately the kids did not last long enough to participate in the Costume Contest and Parade but I’m sure that we will be going back soon so that will have to wait until next time.

If you live in Southern California, I highly recommend taking the kids to Knott’s Berry Farm Camp Spooky. The kids really enjoyed themselves and it was a fun Halloween activity, instead of a scary one. Camp Spooky runs weekends October 5-27 and is included with regular park admission.
