Heart Envelope Bookmark
My mom has been a librarian for over 20 years and one thing I have learned from her is to never, ever, ever, ever fold the corners of book pages to mark your place! I have made several different kinds of bookmarks over the years and I have become very fond of these. This bookmark uses the corners from an envelope to keep your place and is decorated with colorful paper.
Cut a heart template and trace it onto the bottom corner of an envelope.
Cut out the hearts, the opening should be at the top of the heart.
Cut out 2 more hearts, one from cardstock to give the bookmark a little structure and one from printed paper. Glue the pieces together with the cardstock heart sandwiched in between the envelope heart and the printed heart (we used Mod Podge to glue them).
We wiped away any excess glue, waited a few minutes then slipped it onto the corner of a page and closed the book to get it really flat. Aren’t they cute?!?! My daughter and I made these for her teachers this year and they loved them. I had her color a picture on the white cardstock to make each more more personal and then had her write her name on the back of the heart. It was a very simple, but unique gift for the end of the year.
