Chocolate Covered Cookie Balls

Today’s post is brought to you by Hamilton Beach. I received a  Stack & Snap™ food processor for review and made a yummy holiday treat. Read on to get the recipe so you can make it for yourself!

Chocolate Covered Cookie Balls

Last year for Christmas I made chocolate covered Oreos to add to my cookie tins and game them to family and friends. Everybody loved them! This year I wanted to make the same cookies, but I wanted to change them up a bit  so I tried these cookie balls. They were very easy to make, but did take some time to cover them all with chocolate. If I make them just for my family I’ll probably cut the recipe in half because the full recipe make 48 cookie balls! It’s not that we won’t eat them, the problem is we will eat them. And probably at record speed!

Ingredients:

  • 36 chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 1 (8)oz package of cream cheese, softened
  • 2 packages of Peppermint candy melts
  • green and red candy melts for decoration

Directions:

Use your Stack & Snap™ food processor with the S blade and add the cookies.

Chop them using the Pulse to Chop button until you have cookie crumbs.

Pour the crumbs into a large bowl and add the softened cream cheese. Stir until both are well combined.

Roll the mixture into 1″ balls and place on a cookie sheet. Place in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.

In a double boiler melt 1 package of the peppermint candy melts. You can also use the microwave according to the package directions, but a double boiler melts them  to a smoother consistency.

Cover a cookie sheet with wax paper. Use a fork, or toothpick to dip the balls into the melted candy coating. I like to use a kaboob skewer, it’s longer which makes it easier to get the ball evenly coated. Place them onto the wax paper. If you need more candy coating, melt the second bag.

Once the cookie balls are all covered refrigerate for 1 hour. Then melt small amounts of the red and green candy melts. Next drizzle small amounts over the top of each cookie ball.

The  Stack & Snap™ food processor was so powerful it turned my 36 cookies into crumbs in about 10 seconds! It made me realize how much I needed a new food processor. The bowl holds 10 cups which will come in handy as I made meals this holiday season for our parties and events. It’s easy to assemble and is also dishwasher safe. I’m sure that I’ll be using it often for future recipes, so stay tuned!
