Cranberry Oatmeal Crumble
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Carton Smart for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
During the holiday we often do more cooking and baking than usual, and all of the extra time spent in the kitchen means you’ll have more trash than usual too! What if you could reduce that waste, even by just a little bit? Many of the ingredients that you use for your holiday dishes are available in Tetra Pak® cartons. Did you know that they are made of 70% paper, a renewable resource, from selectively harvested, re-grown trees that are FSC-certified (Forest Stewardship Council)? These cartons use 1/3 of the packaging compared to cans, are easy to store and open. Additionally, the unique packaging process preserves the flavor and nutrients of food without the use of preservatives. And of course, the packaging is recyclable which results in 60% less landfill waste than cans. My favorite part about using these cartons is that your food doesn’t have a metallic tin taste to it! Just yummy food, full of natural flavors.
For today’s post, I am sharing the Cranberry Oatmeal Crumble that I made with the Pacific Foods Organic Jellied Cranberry Sauce that I received. This crumble is sweet and tart, I like to eat it alone but it’s also delicious with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
Ingredients:
- 2 ½ c quick oats
- ¾ c all-purpose flour
- 1 c brown sugar
- ½ c white sugar
- ¾ c butter, melted
- 1 carton of Pacific Foods Organic Jellied Cranberry Sauce
- 1 c dried cranberries
Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease a 13×9 baking dish. In a large bowl combine the oats, flour, and sugars, then mix in melted butter.
Stir until the mixture is combined and is crumbly.
Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
In a small bowl mix the Pacific Foods Organic Jellied Cranberry Sauce with the dried cranberries then spread the mixture over your crust.
Last, sprinkle the remaining oat mixture on top. Bake for 25 minutes or until the outside crust starts to brown. Cool and serve.
This holiday season be sure to look for your favorite foods in cartons instead of cans so you can make have delicious dishes with little waste!
