DIY Natural Air Freshener Spray
Every season I share a list of essential oil blends to use in your home. You can use them in a diffuser or warmer with oil. I also like to add them to a spray bottle to use around the house for a quick freshen up in each room.
I use a 2oz glass bottle for my sprays because the essential oil can degrade plastic. I’ve heard from some people that if essential oils are mixed in a solution then that doesn’t apply, but I’d rather be safe. Also, glass is easier to clean, in my opinion, when it comes to oils.
You can use distilled water, or a 50/50 mix of vodka and water. I personally like to use witch hazel in my spray bottles. The alcohol or witch hazel will help the scent last longer. Water tends to evaporate quickly when left in the bottle over time, and the scent doesn’t last very long once sprayed.
Here are a few essential oil blends that are perfect for everyday use.

Notes:
- Shake the bottle gently before each use to mix the oils with the liquid
- Do not spray on furniture or delicate surfaces that might become stained from the oils
- Do not spray over uncovered food or drinks
- Avoid spraying near your face or apply to your skin.
- Some oils are not safe to be sprayed around pets. Avoid spraying their beds or sleeping areas without consulting a vet.
