DIY Soy Candles with Essential Oils
These days so many people are troubled with allergies and/or sensitivities to synthetic scents and perfumes. These sensitivities can trigger many physiological responses, like migraines, respiratory issues, watery-itchy eyes and so much more. But there’s hope for those who still want to add fragrance to their home – DIY candles with essential oils!
What you will need:
- Recycled jar or mason jar
- Soy Wax (purchase at craft store or online)
- Candle wicks (purchase at craft store or online)
- Essential Oils: Lavender, Eucalyptus, Wild Orange, Elevation, Balance are great for mind, body and mood
Directions:
Set pre-made wick with metal weight in mason jar.
Melt wax in another mason jar or glass bowl over pot of boiling water, remove from heat and allow to cool briefly.
Add essential oils, stir, and pour into mason jar.
Do not fill all the way, allow some burning room for the wick. Burning time will vary based on the size of your mason jar. Enjoy!
Hello Rachele,
How many drops of EO do you use for a candle?
The amount depends on how strong the scent you’re using is. I would add 10 drops to start, if you can barely smell the scent add more in 5 drop increments. Hope that helps! -monika
