The National Education Association’s celebration of Read Across America Day always falls on March 2nd, which is Dr. Seuss’ birthday. The celebration usually lasts the entire week with thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participating across the country by bringing kids of ages together with reading activities. You and your children have likely read one of Dr. Seuss’ 60 books. He is best known for How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, Dr. Seuss’s ABC, The Lorax, Horton Hears a Who!, Are You My Mother, Fox in Socks, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish and Oh the Places You’ll Go. The rhyming words and whimsical pictures bring each book to life and engage readers of all ages.
In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, I have put together a list of Seuss related activities, snack ideas, and printables to enjoy with your kids. Don’t forget to read your favorite Dr. Seuss book on March 2nd in honor of his birthday!
