Jumbo Paper Clip Bookmarks
Reading is a huge part of our daily routine and I try to make it as fun as possible for my kids. My daughter is in first grade and her teacher recommends that she read at least 20 minutes a day, but I also like to read books to her. While she is at school I also like to read to my sons. I’ve made several different type of bookmarks in the past, but it’s always nice to try something new!
I found these jumbo paper clips at a local discount store and I wasn’t really sure what I would do with them. I had never seen paper clips that big, so I just had to have them! Plus, they were only $1.50. When I decided to make book marks I wanted to make cute toppers and I immediately thought of my long forgotten box of scrapbooking supplies. There was time, a long long time ago, that I thought it would be great to scrapbook. I bought cute stickers, pretty paper, colorful pens and never made one book, or even one page for that matter, of a scrapbook. But I kept it all, just like any good crafter would because someday I just might need it.
This craft is very simple. I found packages of paper scrapbook stickers and picked out a few that I liked. Then I glued the jumbo paper clip to the back.
I also covered the back of the paper clip with a small felt circle to give it a little more stability and also to make it look prettier.
That’s it’s! So easy, right? My daughter loves using them. Apparently her friends love using them too, she took them to school to use and came back with none! I have a feeling we will be making lots more this weekend.
Here are a few of the bookmarks we made, the fish is my favorite.
I hope that you enjoyed this simple craft and will make some of your own!
These are so cute. I need to get the supplies to make some of these because my daughter is forever loosing bookmarks!
