Easy DIY Swiffer Cover
A while back I realized that regular 12×12 wash clothes fit my Swiffer perfectly and work just as good as the disposable clothes that you can buy. So I started to use them and then just threw them in the wash with my other towels. It saved me money and was a great way to repurpose something that I already had. But trying to shove the wash clothes into the little holes on top of the Swifter didn’t always work because they are much thicker and then disposable clothes. So I made a cover that works much better!
For this cover, I used a washcloth, added a few strips of scrap fabric in the middle to make it easier to clean up spills, and then added snaps to either side for a secure closure. If you don’t have a snap setter to add the snaps you can also use Velcro strips. But I highly recommend you get a snap setter, I love adding snaps to just about everything instead of Velcro! The one I have is from KamSnaps, they also have a huge assortment of snaps that you can buy.
I use this cover to dry dust mop, clean up liquid spills, and also with cleaning spray for on spot clean up. If you love your Swiffer, you’ll love it even more with this cover!
Wow, that’s awesome, Monika! I have a Swiffer too but hate the little things that go on them. This is a great solution :)
