English Breakfast Scones
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! These scones are so delicious and super easy to make. All you need are a few ingredients and about 10 minutes. You’ll feel all fancy eating them, but inside you will know just how easy they were to make!
Ingredients:
2 cups of flour (plus some for rolling out)
1 Tbs. baking powder
pinch of salt
2 oz (half stick) of butter, cut up into small pieces
1 Tbs sugar
2/3 milk
1 Tbs raisins/walnuts (anything you wish)
Directions:
Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a mixing bowl.
Add butter pieces and use a pastry cutter to blend.
Add sugar and pour in milk. Mix well with a spoon to make the dough. Place dough on a large cutting board & sprinkle with flour.
Roll out to 1″ thickness using a rolling pin.
Cut scones using a pizza cutter.
Place cut pieces onto a non-stick baking sheet .
Bake at 425 degrees for 7-10 minutes.
You can also use a bar pan to bake everything nice and evenly square.
These scones are so tasty. You can serve them with jam, but I just like to eat them just as they are (with a nice cup of coffee of course).
