No Sew Felt Hair Bow
My daughter wasn’t always into hair bows, but over the last year or so she has created quite a large collection! I have made more than my fair share of ribbon bows but wanted to try something new. I used the Sizzix French Bow on the Sizzix blog last month and wanted to try it out to make a new hair bow for Ryan. I made three different kinds of bows using the die and attached on to a clip and the others I made a loop on the back for a headband to slip through.
Supplies:
- Sizzix Big Shot
- Sizzix Accessory – Cutting Pad, Standard
- Sizzix Bigz Die – French Bow
- Felt
- hot glue gun
- scissors
Directions:
Using your Sizzix Big Shot, cutting pads and Sizzix Bigz Die – French Bow die cut your bow pieces from the felt pieces. Be sure to pay attention to the fold lines on the die, all 3 of the main pieces need to have a felt piece folded in half.
Once your pieces are cut, layer your large bow piece on top of your tail piece and place a dab of glue in the middle. Fold the bow pieces towards the center and press down. Add another dab of glue in the middle and repeat with the small bow piece. Wrap the small center piece around the middle of the bow and glue together at the back.
You can add a barrette or alligator clip to the back. I took another center felt center piece and added it to the back, gluing the sides down but leaving the center unglued so that could slide a headband through.
You can also make the bow with the tails crossed at the bottom by folding over the tail.
I easily made several of these felt bows in just a few minutes using my Sizzix Big Shot. I am going to keep my eye out for printed and glitter felt to make more!
What a super cute bow! I love it! Thanks for sharing! PINNED!
this is beautiful! =]
