Hot Cocoa Ornament
One year a good friend of mine filled clear ornaments with colorful ribbon and confetti and I thought it was such a cute idea for a small Christmas gift. So when I saw these clear plastic ornaments at Walmart, I snatched them up with the intention of filling them with “something” either to hang on the tree or to give as gift. Is wasn’t sure what it would be and the ornaments have been sitting on my craft table for almost a month. Then, when I was thinking of giving someone a mug filled with hot cocoa mix and marshmallows I thought – Why not fill the ornaments that I have instead?
So, that’s what I did! I took a pack of hot cocoa and poured it into the ornament using a funnel, then added some Christmas sprinkles purely for looks, I don’t they add any flavor to the cocoa. Then I dropped in a few marshmallows on top – a must for cocoa!
If you hang it on the tree then you will be able to see all of the layers nicely, but I don’t know if it will “travel” well.
If you are having a holiday party, or hosting Christmas at your house you can make a few of these and hang them on the tree. Then if you have an unexpected guest, or maybe forgot a present for a friend , you can simply grab the ornament off the tree and give it as a gift! I made three of them, one for each of my kids. On Christmas morning I’ll take down the ornaments and make hot cocoa. This may be a new family tradition!
