How To Make A Confetti Covered Frame
By now, most of you have your kids home for Summer. Not me. Nope, my daughter does not get out of school until next week. To be honest, it feels like this school year will never end. And I’m sure that by the time August comes around you’re going to read a post that says “It seems like this Summer will never end!” I shouldn’t be complaining, having one less kid around here is nice. Even if it’s just for a few short hours! The two boys play so well with each other when it’s just them. Anyway, having a few extra days of school has given me the time I need to make the teacher gift that I have been putting off since Teacher Appreciation Week (oops!).
When I my daughter was Star of The Week for her class we put together a poster with pictures of her favorite things to do, foods, movies, etc. One of the pictures that I include was of her and her teacher on the first day of school. Teacher told me she loved it and wanted a copy of her own. So I decided her gift for the end of the year would be that picture framed. So, here you go!
Supplies:
- colored paper (use paper that is colored on both sides like construction paper, not scrapbook paper)
- hole punch
- blank frame
- Mod Podge or other paper glue
- sponge to apply glue
Directions:
- Punch out a million tiny hole punches from colored paper. Be sure to use paper that is colored on both sides like construction paper, not scrapbook paper.
- Apply a thin layer of glue to a small area of the frame, sprinkle with hole punches. Only do this to a small area at a time or the glue will dry. Repeat until the frame is covered with confetti.
- Once the glue has dried, add another thin layer of glue over the top to make sure those dots are really sticking to the frame. Then add in your picture and you’re ready to go!
You don’t have to use a standard hole punch. After we were done (of course) I realized that I have a heart and star punch that I could have used also. Next time…next time.
Such and easy but great idea!!
