How to Make Cardboard Ornaments
I signed up for a few ornament exchanges this year, so there was a lot of inspiration floating around here. I got the idea for these ornaments from the yarn & cardboard wreath that I made for Fall. They were very easy to make and took little time. Also, the supplies I either had on hand or was inexpensive from the local craft store.
Supplies:
- Cardboard shapes (I used an Xacto knife with cut them)
- Yarn
- Ribbon
- Glue
For the heart ornament, I just wrapped the cardboard piece with yarn and then glued the ends. For the wreath I used 1/4″ ribbon to wrap the cardboard piece.
For the circle ornament, I glued ribbon pieces with Mod Podge to the cardboard circle letting a bit hang over the edges. After the glue had dried, I trimmed the edges with scissors. A few of the ribbon pieces came up at the ends where I cut so I used a cotton swab dipped in the Mod Podge to re-apply the glue. Then the lined the edge with a piece of ribbon, gluing down the ends.
What shapes will you use for this craft?
