How to Make Felt Bracelets

My daughter is 5 years old and she loves to play dress up. Whether she is having a tea party or playing in the mud outside, she loves to wear a formal dress with a matching sweater, jewelry and hair accessories. We try to come up with new items to make for her outfits because, as you can imagine, her accessories get worn out very fast!

Girls Felt Bracelets

While looking through some of my craft supplies I got inspired by a few pieces of felt that were laying together for a Valentine’s Day craft. I pulled out my box of buttons and decided to make a few felt bracelets for her. These are Valentine’s Day themed, but of course could be used for any day. I think it’s safe to say that most girls have a few red or pink items in their closet!

These were very easy to make. I measured her wrist and added 1 1/2 inches for length then but the strip 1 1/2 inches wide. I sew the closure button first so that I can be sure my embellishments are centered correctly. For this item I simply cut a slit on the side opposite of the closure button instead of doing anything fancy like an official buttonhole. Next add your embellishments, I cut felt hearts and circles then added buttons. I like to use embroidery thread when adding these kinds of embellishments because it adds a little more dimension and character to the piece. Now you’re done! Easy, right? It took me less than 5 minutes to make one bracelet. Easy peasy!
