It’s Christmas Time at Knott’s Merry Farm!

Yesterday we took our annual trip to Knott’s Merry Farm. The weather was less than favorable, but it didn’t stop us from having a great time, in fact it made the day seem a little more Christmasy! We bundled up and took a stroll down Main Street in Ghost Town listening to carolers, stopping at the shops, and enjoying the colorful decorations. Our first stop is always at Engine 41 to take a train ride around the park.

 

Calico Park Tree Lighting 

At the recently added Calico Park, the night time tree lighting tradition takes place. This all-new Calico Tree lighting Ceremony features the Calico Bell Choir and the Citizens of Calico as they join together around the tree for an illuminating Christmas celebration filled with, music, laughter and happiness. Tis the season to be jolly, so gather round the electrifying Christmas tree and experience the colorful lights come alive when Dr. Carter tests his newest electrical Christmas invention in Ghost Town. 

Live Entertainment 

Seasonal live entertainment fills the park during Merry Farm!

Merry Christmas, Snoopy! Snoopy, the Peanuts, and a cast of world class ice skaters perform in the spectacular ice show, Merry Christmas, Snoopy! in the Charles M. Schulz Theatre. In the exciting show, filled with whimsy and spectacular skating, Snoopy enjoys all of the best parts of the season, including trimming the Christmas tree, awaiting Santa’s arrival, and attending the festive Christmas Ball! Select days November 19 – January 8.

It’s the Merriest Christmas Show Ever, Charlie Brown  The Peanuts put on the greatest Christmas pageant ever with Charlie Brown directing of course. Charlie Brown’s one wish: to spend the holidays with his family… especially Snoopy who is sending letters from his holiday visits to his family around the world.

• Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” and O. Henry’s “A Gift of the Magi” – In the intimate setting of Ghost Town’s historic Bird Cage Theatre, catch a live performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol or O. Henry’s A Gift of the Magi.
• Calico Carolers – Knott’s own vocal quartet performs the songs of the season throughout the streets of Ghost Town.
• Calico Saloon Christmas Show – Cameo Kate and Dakota Dan invite you to their musical turn of the century holiday celebration.
• A Peanuts Guide to Christmas – The Peanuts give their take and unique wisdom in a primer designed to help you survive the holidays.
• Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies – The world famous bluegrass country music group, Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies (formerly known as Billy Hill and the Hillbillies), will perform sets of their toe tappin’, hand clappin’ and gut bustin’ musical comedy show in the Bird Cage Theatre located in Ghost Town. Performances run on select dates.

Santa’s Christmas Cabin 

It’s our favorite time of year when the Wilderness Dance Hall in Ghost Town transforms into Santa’s Christmas Cabin for the holiday season. We love visiting Santa and taking our yearly Christmas picture of him with the kids. Afterward, we enjoy a few one-of-kind seasonal treats like Santa’s freshly-baked cookies, mouthwatering pastries, exquisite chocolate-dipped cheesecake on a stick, seasonal craft beers, gourmet hot chocolate with marshmallows and hot spiced holiday wine, plus much more.
