Mini Christmas Tree Side Table Decor
Over the weekend my Instagram feed was filled with friends from all over beginning their Christmas decorating. But in my house, we don’t start decorating until December. So today I have my first Christmas project for you! This mini tree project is part of the December Dollar Bin Challenge, a few blogger friends and myself bought them at Target for $3. When I first saw this tree I wanted to rush out and buy mini decorations for it, but then I imagined my kids taking them all off and me never seeing them again. So I decided to make this project a bit simpler.
I wanted to cover the base and make it wider, so I took a large tin can and wrapped it with natural raffia ribbon.
The base fit perfectly inside the can, and even though you can see the burlap showing from the original base it’s okay because it matches!
Then I took this Christmas plaid ribbon and tied tiny bows all over the tree.
A few days ago I made a few batches of chocolate pudding and saved the boxes, they were the perfect size for little presents under the tree! So I took the empty boxes and wrapped them with white paper and finished it with colored raffia ribbon.
Now this mini tree decoration and the matching presents are sitting on a side table in my living room. The kids love it! But they don’t seem to believe me when I say that the presents aren’t real. I’m sure it will only be a day or two until I find one unwrapped!
Be sure to check out the projects that the other bloggers made for the December Dollar Bin Challenge with their mini trees!
So cute! Love the simplicity of the white wrapping and ribbon. That’s my favorite kind of gift wrapping!
What a fun idea! The tree looks great.
