Printable Travel Games for Kids
This past summer we took the biggest road trip of our lives. It wasn’t the longest, or the most eventful but it was so important. We left our home state of California to move our family to Texas! The trip took almost a week and we tried to make a few fun stops along the way to make the most of the journey, but there was a lot of time spent driving in the car.
Before we left I wanted to make sure that in each car there were activities for the kids. My car has a video player so I brought a variety of DVDs, which was actually a challenge since most of our movies are digital on cloud services! I also brought a deck of cards, UNO, and coloring books. But what I spent the most time on were binders for the kids. Each one had a pencil pouch with pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, crayons, and a dry erase marker. The binders were filled with blank sheets of paper and also laminated pages of popular “road trip” games.
The pages I made are available below for you to print and use on your own road trip, each page has instructions in case you are not familiar with the games. You don’t have to laminate the pages, but if you do you can draw on them with dry erase markers and simply wipe off and re-use.
- TicTacToe
- Hangman
- License Plate Game – list of states
- License Plate Game – pictures of each state’s license plate
- Alphabet Game
- Lines and Dots
- Battleship
- USA Map – for kids to map out the trip and mark where you’ve been
