Quick & Easy DIY Christmas Ornaments
It’s almost Christmas time but if you are still in need of a few DIY ornaments, I have three quick and easy projects for you. This year I made a lot of new ornaments for our tree some took several days to make but some only took a few minutes and these are the ones that I am going to share with you today.
Felt & Fabric Ornament Instructions: Iron Heat’n Bond Lite Iron-on Adhesive to the wrong side of a fabric square. Trace your shape on the paper and cut out your shape. Iron the shape onto the felt. Layer another piece of felt underneath for the back of the ornaments. Stitch around the edge of the fabric leaving a 1 1/2″ opening to add stuffing. (I left the piece on the machine and just stuffed it right there.) Close the opening and then trim the felt around the fabric shape. Finish with a button and ribbon loop to hang.
Paper Covered Glass Ornament Instructions: Cut pieces of printed paper into 1/2″ stripes. Wrap a strip of paper from one end of the ornament to the other to determine how long each piece will be (mine were 7″ long). Dab a little bit of Mod Podge at the top of the ornament and place one end of paper on it, then wrap the strip around to the other side and dab another bit of glue to adhere that side of the paper. Continue all the way around to cover the ornament.
Paper Covered Wooden Ornament Instructions: I bought these plain wooden shapes from Joann Fabric & Craft Stores for under $1 each. Apply Mod Podge to one side of the wooden shape and then cover with the wrong side of a square piece of paper. Smooth down to release any air bubbles. Trim the edges with an Xacto knife or scissors. Finish with a ribbon to hang.
Merry Christmas!
