Rainbow Yarn Wall Hanging
We had a few days of rain last month and the clouds outside were blocking our usual sunny afternoons, so I was trying to think of a new craft for the kids and I to create to bring some smiles inside. For my kids, nothing makes them smile more than rainbows! I have an abundant amount of yarn on hand, even though I don’t knit or crochet, so it seemed like a great place to start.
We gathered up our rainbow colors of yarn, wooden dowels, and scissors.
I cut (12) 24-inch pieces of each color and tied them to the wooden dowel. My dowel is 12 inches long, you may have to adjust the length/amount of your pieces depending on how long and wide your dowel is.
My yarn strands were very wrinkled, so I used a warm iron the straighten them out.
Lastly, I tied (3) pieces of white yarn around each end of the dowel to hang my finished piece.
I left the ends uneven because I liked the look, but you could cut them straight across or even make a chevron pattern. This project can be made with any combination of colors, my daughter will be making one this weekend to match her room!
