St. Patrick’s Day PomPom Monsters

My daughter and I had such a good time making the Valentine’s Day PomPom Monsters that we wanted to make a few more for her teachers for St. Patrick’s Day. This time around I figured out a new, easier way to make them.

St. Patrick's Day PomPom Monsters

It came to me while shopping at Target, I saw these small square combs and immediate thought I can use these to make pompoms! They worked much better than the cardboard squares I was using before. They don’t bend, they can hold more yarn and you don’t have to take the yarn off before you tie them all together!

How to Make Yarn PomPoms

After you tie the middle, cut the yarn loops down the middle then trim the pompom down to the size you want. After that it’s time to decorate! We had fun with google eyes, pipe cleaners and foam hearts. My daughter wanted to use ribbon on her pompoms so I took a small piece and made a bow tie for one of mine.

The next pompoms on our list are for Easter. We are going to try to make little bunnies and chicks!
