Summer Break Household Essentials

The kids are out on Summer break. This means no waking up early, no driving to school, and no projects. But it also means the kids are home Every. Single. Day. As you know I have three kids and they are not at the age when they can entertain themselves. It’s only about a week into break that I start to realize that Summer is more work than the school year! So I decided to stock up on my Summer break essentials while shopping at Costco. I’m not talking about water toys, fresh fruit, and sidewalk chalk. What I mean is, the Summer household essentials. Everything that I need to make sure my house doesn’t fall to pieces before Fall!
Along with everyday items such as toilet paper and dish detergent I also bought Bounty Advanced paper towels. I plan to keep the kids occupied with craft projects, painting, bird house making, and whatever else I can think of to keep those little hands busy. I don’t mind messy projects since the clean up is so easy with Bounty Advanced! I love their select a size feature so I don’t waste a whole towel when just a half size will do.
I also buy my Dawn Platinum Advanced Power dish soap from Costco so that I don’t have to spend all day in the kitchen washing dishes. The kids shouldn’t be the only ones having fun while I’m inside cleaning! I’ve been using Dawn for years to tackle messes like this, it makes quick work of the stuck on food from the breakfast dishes that I often leave until the afternoon.
But the Summer won’t be all fun and games. I keep my cleaning closet stocked with every Swiffer product imaginable – Dry, Wet, Duster. I have them all! And now that the kids are home, they can help with the cleaning! All of my kids love to use my Swiffer Sweeper and the Duster too. I play some music, turn up the volume and cleaning almost seems like fun! They can dance around while I just sit down, relax, and supervise.
The last Summer break essential I want to share is Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. When the crafts don’t go as planned, or my kids decided to take it upon themselves to “decorate” my walls with their crayons, this is my go-to cleaning product. I remember years ago when I tried these for the first time, I was skeptical. But when I cleaned my entire house with just a Magic Eraser and nothing else, I was a true believer. This multi-pack from Costco also has foaming bathroom scrubbers that are amazing. Simply amazing!
