Summer Reading Books for Grades K-8
Summer break is just around the corner, although this year it seems like we’ve been home for so long! My kids have adapted to distance learning during this pandemic so I thought it would be a great idea to continue with some scheduled learning time each morning, just an hour or so.
Every summer I try to be proactive and continue practicing reading and math for all of my kids, so this isn’t anything new for them. But since doing schoolwork at home has been the new normal for the last few months, this should be an easy transition for most elementary kids!
In years past I’ve shared summer reading lists that are put together by the Association for Library Service to Children. It’s been a great resource to find age-appropriate books for all of my kids. The lists have recommendations for grades K-8 along with a short description of each book. There are even some suggestions for preschool kids!
Below I picked a few books from each list that I thought looked interesting and shared the link to purchase them on Amazon. There is also a link that will take you to the complete 25 book suggestion list for each grade range below. Happy reading!
