Tissue Paper Flower Wreath
The past few years I’ve made a wreath for Spring to hang on my front door, each one with pastel colors. This year is no different, except that my wreath was made using tissue paper flowers and an embroidery hoop. It’s not an outdoor wreath, but it still looks lovely hanging on my living room wall!
For this project you need tissue paper, an embroidery hoop (I used an 8″ hoop) a Sizzix Big Shot and the Sizzix Bigz L Die – Peony.
I folded (1) piece of tissue paper (3) times then once in half. Then I used my Sizzix Big Shot and the Sizzix Bigz L Die – Peony to die cut the flowers.
I only needed (1) sheet of tissue paper per color to have enough pieces for my wreath, so whatever color combination you decide to use, just be sure to have (3) sheets of tissue paper total.
Fold each flower piece in half, then in half again.
Next, adjust the tension on your hoop loose enough to slide the pieces in between the hoops.
Fill the entire hoop with your flower pieces then tighten the tension on the hoop.
Once the hoop is tight, start to pull the flower pieces apart to make the flower fuller.
Once all your flowers are full, you’re done and ready to hang you wreath. I used a 5/8″ piece of white satin ribbon to hang my wreath in my living room. Even though my front door in empty, I’m still very happy with my Spring wreath!
