Typography Pocket Style Envelope
This past month I’ve created two projects on the Sizzix blog using this awesome paper pack I received from Graphic 45 called Typography. I love the prints and colors so much that I decided to make a final project this month here using the same paper pack. This pocket style envelope can be used to give a gift card to a friend, or send a note to a loved one.
Supplies:
- Sizzix Big Shot machine
- Sizzix Cutting Pads
- Sizzix Bigz L Die – Fancy Pocket
- Sizzix Accessory – Premium Crease Pad, Standard
- Graphic 45 Typography Paper
- glue
- natural string or twine
- scissors
Instructions:
Choose your paper prints and use the Sizzix Bigz L Die – Fancy Pocket die cut your pieces. For this project I liked using a piece of cardstock for the main pocket piece that was printed on both sides so that the pocket wasn’t the same print all over. It gives this piece a little bit more visual interest.
When you’re cutting the pieces, be sure to use the Sizzix Accessory – Premium Crease Pad for the main pocket piece. The crease pad will make the fold lines more defined for easy assembly.
Once you have all of your pieces cut, assemble your pocket. I used a glue tape runner to glue the sides together. Then lay out your pieces where you want them.
For small pieces like this, I like to use a glue pen with a fine tip like Aleene’s Turbo Tacky Glue Pen. I bought mine at Joann Craft Store, 2 for $6, and use it a lot.
Once you have all of your paper pieces glued down, wrap your twine or string around the top a few times and knot it.
I finished my pocket with a Graphic 45 Typography chipboard piece.
