How to Upcycle a Basic Composition Book
Every year my kids have several composition books on their school supplies list. Last year when they had to come home for distance learning they brought home all of their school supplies too. We had no idea if they would be going back for not! Most of the composition books they brought home only had a few pages written on. So this year I decided to just rip out those pages and spruce up the covers of those books so they didn’t go to waste. Here’s a quick and easy tutorial showing how to add some personalization and give these old books a fresh new look!
Supplies:
- Composition Books
- Scissors
- Paper
- Liquid Glue
- Ruler
- Pencil
Instructions:
- Measure and cut the printed paper to fit the book cover.
- Add a thin, even layer of liquid glue to the book cover. I used ModPodge and a makeup applicator.
- Apply the paper to the book cover. Use a plastic card to gently smooth out any bubbles that may have formed. Be sure to have the plastic card on hand during this step. If you don’t do this quickly, you won’t be able to remove the bubbles!
- Trim any paper that’s past the edge of the book cover.
- Repeat on the other side of the book.
