Valentines Day Kisses
Making seasonal gifts doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. Some of my favorite projects take minutes to make and very few supplies. For Halloween, I made gift bags for friends using Hershey’s Kisses and themed stickers, just like these Valentine’s Day Kisses. It was easy enough that the kids could help yet festive for the holiday. I plan on make a whole bunch of these and filling little gift boxes to pass out to the staff at my kids’ school, or to any friends and family we see before Valentine’s Day.
For this project, I used my Silhouette Cameo to make the stickers, along with my Xyron 900. First, I bought this file from the Silhouette Design Store. It features (5) different sticker designs, already sized to fit perfectly on the bottom of a Hershey’s Kiss. I added registration marks to the document and then printed the page. If you print the design on white sticker paper, then you can skip this next step.
I like to use my Xyron 900 to make the paper a sticker sheet. It’s easier for me to use a machine that I already have on hand rather than buying another product that I may, or may not, use. You simply roll the paper through the machine and it applies a sheet of sticky glue to the back. The cartridge is 9 inches wide so you do have to trim the sides, but there is a clear film that is attached to the top so it’s not difficult or messy. There are different cartridges you can buy for this machine – permanent, repositionable, even magnet! It comes in handy very often when crafting.
Next, use your Silhouette Cameo to cut the circles, peel the stickers, and then apply them to the bottom of the Kisses. This step is so easy, you can have your kids do it! If you have little littles, this is a great exercise for fine motor skills. Crafting and learning, all in one!
You can add them to a box like this one, which was also made using my Cameo, kraft cardstock, and this template from the design store.
You can also add these Kisses to gift bags, or just leave then in a candy dish for friends and guests. It’s a simple, but cute way to bring festive fun to a favorite treat!
