Warm weather means more than just sunshine and beach days to me. It also means lighter eating and fruit, lots of fresh delicious fruit! During the cold days of Winter a rich bowl of soup really hits the spot, but on warm days sitting outside soaking up the sun all I want is a light snack and big glass of ice water. Right now is a great time to start incorporating those juicy fruits into your meals because there are so many varieties in season during Spring and Summer. Today I’m going to share with you (3) ways that I like to pair Wasa Multigrain Crackers with fruit.
If you are not familiar with Wasa Multigrain Crackers, they are crispbread crackers made with (4) blended wholesome grains ( rye, wheat, oats, and barley). At first sight, these crackers look thick and you might assume that they are heavy or dense. However, I was pleasantly surprised what I took my first bite. They are very light and crispy!
For my first snack cracker, I mixed light cream cheese with raspberries and spread the mixture on one of my crackers.
Then I took fresh mint from my garden, chopped it and sprinkled it on top. Raspberry and mint is a classic combination and there is no need for other spices or seasoning!
For my next snack cracker, I spread all natural peanut butter on my Wasa Multigrain Crackers, topped it with sliced green apples, and drizzled a bit of honey on top.
These green apples are quite tart, which is why I added the honey. If you use a sweeter variety such as Gala or Honey Crisp you may not need to add the honey.
Lastly, I used the light cream again but this time, I mixed it with cinnamon. Be sure to taste it before you spread, I added much more that I had anticipated because I wasn’t getting a strong cinnamon flavor.
I topped this with sliced Bosc pears and then sprinkled a bit more cinnamon on top. Another variety of pear can be used, I prefer Bosc because it is a firm fruit and I don’t like the mushy texture that the more common Bartlett or Anjou pears have.
I picked up my Wasa Multigrain Crackers during my weekly trip to Walmart. You can find them in the Cracker aisle. Don’t forget to check your Ibotta app for more savings before you go!
